The Secret Sauce to Creating an Income Online

The best income-generating products or services will be found at the intersection of your passion and your audience's need.Online Christian Creatives are  … well … creative when it comes to the different ways they are earning an income from their online presence.  And some are earning income offline specifically to fund their online work.  That’s real commitment right there!

When taking the step to monetize your online presence, the survey indicated two key considerations:

First, the best income-generating products or services will be found at the intersection of your passion and your audience’s need.  Whatever you are offering should be consistent with the main message you share, and it should meet a deeply felt need of the people you are reaching.

Second, most bloggers making more than $500/month are using multiple income streams to do it.  They are selling physical books and ebooks, combining coaching services with courses, creating affiliate income and offering their own services.  Multiple income streams are most effective when you can package similar or supplementary content in different ways or formats.  This helps the content drive the purchase decision rather than the format.

Here are some of the ways that Christians are earning an income online:

  • Physical books
  • E-books
  • Downloadable Worksheets
  • Dropshipping products
  • Life Coaching
  • Business Coaching
  • Mentoring
  • Affiliate income
  • Speaking
  • Event planning
  • Annual or monthly memberships
  • Subscription services
  • Graphic and web design services
  • Freelance writing
  • Virtual Assistant
  • Editing/Proofreading
  • Photography
  • Handcrafted products
  • Workshops

Start with one, branch out to others and you’ll see your online income gradually grow!

PRO TIP

Whatever you try, stick with it a while and give it time to mature.  We’ve all seen people who are selling one thing one month, something different another month and something completely unrelated a month after that.  Multiple income streams are important, but continually starting and abandoning too many can give the impression that you aren’t really committed to any of them. It is a quick way to lose the trust of your audience.
